The Hmong tribe make up 17% of the total Hill-tribe population in Thailand, making it the second largest Hill-tribe group in Thailand.
The Hmong tribe is believed to have migrated to the northern parts of Thailand from the yellow river basin of China. They are well known for their beautiful and intricate costumes.
The different sub-tribes are white, striped, and blue/green. The Hmong people reside mainly in the provinces of Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phrae, and Phayao.
The two dialects of the Hmong
language are Hmong Daw and Hmong Njua.
